Halloween and Fall Festivities!

I know it has been ages since we have updated the blog and we have lots to share about Cameron. He is now 20 weeks old (4 1/2 months) and a whopping 15.5 lbs! Cam is an absolute joy and Cory and I could not imagine life without him. We recently started solid foods after his 4 month doctor's appointment. Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, and Green Beans have all gotten a thumbs up while he didn't like the Squash and Peas so much. He is getting better each day at eating off of a spoon. He has also discovered that he loves to suck on and chew his fingers. We can really see his personality starting to show. He loves to smile and babble and has started to belly laugh when he thinks something is funny. We have been working on building up his back and stomach muscles and he wants to sit up so bad and is almost there. The longest he has sat up by himself has been for about 45 seconds. His doctor told us he is right on track developmentally.

For Halloween, Cameron dressed up as a monkey! Mommy and Daddy thought this was the perfect costume for him since we always call him our little monkey. He was so good while in his costume. We went trick or treating to some family members houses and a few friends. He did not fuss once! We thought for sure that getting him in and out of the car seat so many times that he would get fed up with it but he didn't which made it easier for us since it was raining the entire time. Cameron got lots of goodies including a few outfits, baby food, onesies, and even a couple dollars for his piggy bank. He loved getting to see so many different people in one night. We were very relieved that the night went without a hitch.

Cameron also started daycare since I am now working. He LOVES daycare. Cory and I love it as well. The lady who runs it is amazing and Cameron gets good reports sent home every day. We got our first piece of artwork last week. It was little ghosts paint with Cameron's feet! It is currently hanging on the fridge and will be going in the baby book!

We are hopefully closing on our house this week and will be moving in in a couple of weeks. We have to finish some hardwood floors and take down some wallpaper and paint and then we should be good to go. We can't wait to have a home to call our own and raise Cameron in a great location! I have posted a few recent pictures including one from Halloween. Hope you enjoy and I will try to post more often.

12 Week Update!

Maggie and Cameron playing on the bed!

I know, I know it has been weeks since I have updated but we have been busy/sick and it was the last thing on my mind! Tomorrow Cameron will be 12 weeks old! I can't believe how much he has grown! As of today, he is exactly 11lbs! He is the light of our life and he makes us smile more than we could ever have imagined. Everyday, Cam is improving on so many skills and surpassing a lot of milestones we thought he may be behind on because of his early birth and low birthweight.

In the past couple of weeks, Cameron has started smiling and laughing a lot more. It seems like he always has a smile on his face. He has also become much more observant. He loves looking at new object and whenever we go to a new place he looks around at all the new things. His new favorite activity is looking into the bathroom mirror! I think he would do it for hours if I would stand there and hold him for that long.

My aunt Amy has watched Cameron a couple times in the past couple of weeks due to me having dentist appointments and job interviews. She was a pediatric physical therapist before becoming a stay at home mom and has worked with him on a lot of muscle strengthening exercises and taught me some new things to do with him. His head control has improved dramatically and he only struggles to hold it up when he is really tired. He is rolling over from his belly to back and loves to sit in his bumbo chair.

This past weekend we had our first bought with being sick. Cameron had a pretty nasty cold that included a stuffy nose and coughing. Although he still has the stuffy nose, he seems to be doing much better than he was earlier in the week. Unfortunately, I also got sick so I think that prolonged him from getting better sooner. He also has thrush and is taking medication for that for the next week.

I have gotten to be an expert on going out alone with the baby. We go all sorts of places now and he is usually great when we leave the house. Lately, we have been going to a few of my cousins' volleyball games. It has been nice to get that extra time with family. Grandma Sally also came to visit last weekend and Cameron just loved having her to cuddle with!

Hopefully I will be a bit better in the weeks to come about posting more often. I've added some pics. Hope you enjoy our growing boy!

Napping on mommy's shoulder!

He loves bathtime! Cory and I have fun with it too and cover him with bubbles!

He loves to smile and laugh!

Colt's camp and milestones!

Cameron and I at Colt's training camp!!!!!

Last week we took Cameron to his first Colt's training camp practice! He was really good even though it was hot outside. He stayed awake for maybe 15 minutes then passed out! We were able to stay for about 45 minutes. Once the sun started beating down harder we decided to get him out of the heat! He seemed to like being outside in the fresh air though and all the people kept mentioning how cute he is! Lately Cameron has been rolling over quite a bit. Usually he does it a couple times every time we do tummy time now. We think he gets so mad that he pushes himself over. Tummy time is not fun time in our house! He is also holding his head up very well! He still does some face dives and gets wobbly, especially when he is tired but for the most part he is doing great! We expect that in the next few weeks he will have a lot better head control! He also keeps trying to stand. He loves putting pressure on his legs and pushing himself up when we hold him in our laps!

Last Friday Cam went for his two month Well Baby visit and to get his first set of shots. He weighed in at a whopping 7lbs 11oz. I think that I was more nervous about his shots than anything but he was a trooper and only cried for about 5 seconds when he got poked. Then I picked him up and he fell asleep! The doctor said that everything looks great with him and that he is hitting all of his milestones even though he was 3 weeks early! Later that day, Grandma Freihaut came to visit and she brought goodies from Aunt Tonya and Uncle Derek! They went to a Carter's outlet and got him some cute new outfits and a baby scale! I am in love with the baby scale. Now I can keep up on his weight gain without having to weight to go to the doctor. Today he was 8lbs 3 oz!

On Saturday, Cory and I decided that we were finally going to go do something for our one year anniversary that was on July 19th. Grandma and Grandpa O'Brien were hired to babysit for a few hours! We went to see Harry Potter and halfway through the movie I asked Cory if we could go home because I missed Cameron! I think I was suffering from separation anxiety! lol.. Needless to say, I made it through the movie and Cameron had a wonderful time with grandma and grandpa. On Sunday we relaxed because Cory had to go back to work the next day. This week has went really well with just me and Cam home alone during the day. I must say that I absolutely love staying home and being with him right now. I can't imagine how I am going to feel when I go back to work and have to hand him off to someone else to watch for the day. I am miserable just thinking about it. Cory has come home every day saying how much he missed Cam during the day. Luckily they get to play together all evening!

Last night Cameron went to my cousin Natalie's volleyball game. He is so good whenever we go out of the house. He was passed around a lot between my parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousin and he just loved it! We don't have any plans for this weekend. I think we are going to try and clean the house really well and just spend some quality time with Cameron. I've added some pictures of Cam. Enjoy the cuteness!!

Cameron Update!!!

First off, I apologize for not updating this blog sooner! It has been the last thing on my mind lately and I spaced out and forgot to update!

On Monday, Cameron had another weight check and had gained 1.2 lbs in two weeks! He now weighs 6lbs 11 oz and is definitely starting to chub up! The doctor was very happy with his weight gain and said we can now let him sleep between 4-6 hour stretches during the night. We did have one 5 1/2 hour stretch the other night but usually it is about 3-4 hours in between night time feedings. Cory and I have definitely been getting a lot more sleep these last couple of weeks. We have worked out our nighttime routine and everything is going great.

Last Friday we went over to my sisters apartment for a cookout for her birthday! Cameron had a great time and was a trooper out in the heat. He got to visit with his Aunt Whitney, Grandma and Grandpa O'Brien, Great-Grandma and Grandpa Spittler, my Aunt Amy and Uncle Brian and their kids Natalie and Valerie, and Marilyn and Bob! While everyone played with Cam, mommy and daddy got a break and played some cornhole! Overall we had a great time and it was nice to get out of the house for a bit and interact with people. We also made a trip to the mall to walk Cam around in his stroller. He was an angel the entire time. He seems to do really well when we go out which makes things a lot easier on us. We just have to make sure we plan on going places around his feedings which is a little difficult sometimes.

On Tuesday, Cameron and I went with Cory to help set up his classroom (he goes back to school on the 17th). Cam slept most of the time we were there which allowed me to help Cory get some stuff organized. All of the ladies at Cory's office loved seeing Cam!

Yesterday we went to Danville to pick up Cameron's birth certificate. He was awake the entire ride there and didn't make a peep. That was probably because Cory read to him from his Sports Illustrated! Cameron loves to be talked to and read to. We sit in the glider and read him a few books every day! He also really enjoyed his lullaby CD that his Aunt Whitty got him. I have pretty much memorized all of the songs now that we have listened to it so much and even without the CD if I start singing one of the lullabies he calms down immediately.

Next Friday, Cameron gets his 2 month shots. I am a little nervous about them and know that I am going to be a wreck when he starts crying. The doctor told us we can give him a little baby tylenol to help with pain and try to prevent a fever. I'm hoping that everything goes smoothly and that his weight gain is still going good.

I have added some pictures from the past couple of weeks. I will try to update after Cameron's doctor's appointment next week!

One Month Old Today!

I'm so sorry I have been horrible about posting the past two weeks. We are still in an adjustment period and I am trying to figure out how to budget my time on certain things with a baby around!

Cameron is one month old today and is definitely developing his own little personality! As of Monday (July 20th) he weighs 5lb 9.5oz! He gained 9.5oz in one week which the doctor said is a great weight gain! He is awake and alert a good amount of time now, especially in the afternoon and evenings! He loves to be talked to and looking at our faces! He also likes to dance! (This involves mommy and daddy moving his arms and legs around). Lately he has also been smiling more. I have yet been able to get a good one in a picture!

Due to his impressive weight gain in the past two weeks, he is now out of his preemie clothing and diapers and into the newborn size! This means that mommy got to go shopping.. woohoo!! Today I picked up the pictures we had taken when he was 2 weeks old. They turned out pretty good even though he slept through them. We couldn't get him to wake up for the life of us.

Tomorrow will be Cameron's first long day trip. I have my follow up appt. with my OB in Avon and Cory and Cameron will be joining me. We are also going to one of my friend's houses in Brownsburg to visit with her and another friends newborns! Cameron will be meeting his new friends, Andrew and Blake, for the first time! Andrew was born to my friend Sarah on June 2nd and Blake was born to Nicole on June 29th! It will be interesting to see the boys next to each other because last I hear, Andrew was over 10lbs now and Blake was 8lb when he was born and is probably up around 10lbs. Cam is going to look like a shrimp compared to them! It should be a great time and I can't wait to visit with everyone.

I have added some pictures from the past two weeks for everyone to see. You can definitely tell that he is bright eyed and ready to take on the world!

Mommy's little monkey!!!

He loves playing with his fingers!

We are a big fan of naps in this house!!!!

Week 2!

Cameron is 2 weeks old today! In the past week, he has because much more active and alert. We had two weight checks. On Wednesday, he weighed in at 4lb 8oz which was only one ounce less than his birth weight. Today when we went for his 2 week Well Baby appt. he weighed 4lb 11oz! The doctor was very happy with how he is developing and growing and expects him to be 5lbs or more when we go back next Monday for another weight check!

Cam and I are getting much better at the whole nursing thing. He is latching much better and my meetings with the lactation consultant at his pediatrician's office have been very helpful. The past day he has been wanting to eat more often and is now up to about 2oz per feeding. I think he is going through a growth spurt which I am very excited about.

Also during the past week he has spent quite a bit more time awake. His eyes are focusing much better and he loves to be talked to. He will just look at you when you talk to him and make little noises like he is trying to respond. I have been trying to introduce him to different sensations as well. He loves the feel of silk and gets excited when you blow lightly in his face.

This Wednesday, Cameron is getting his first professional photographs taken. I want to get them done while he is still so tiny! Other than that, we don't have a lot planned for this week. I have added some pictures below of our handsome little boy! We are so in love with the little guy and can't wait to watch him grow!

Busy Weekend!

Today, Cam is one week old! He is the most precious little thing and Cory and I couldn't be happier!

Cameron has been a very good baby so far and rarely cries. He does cry when you undress him and change his diaper and is a little fussy when he gets hungry but other than that he is a very happy baby!

The one thing Cory and I have noticed the most about him is how he uses his arms and hands. His arms are almost always happily moving around and he does the craziest things with his hands. He even sleeps with his hands up at his face.

We have been taking lots of pictures of Cameron and plan to set up an online photo album to share with everyone. He loves being in his swing! But is absolute favorite place to sleep (besides in someone's arms) is in his car seat. We think it makes him feel secure with how surrounded he is. Maybe it reminds him of his Halo Sleepsack Swaddle from the hospital which we ordered offline and just recieved in the mail today!! Yay!! He is going to be so happy when he gets swaddled tonight to go to bed!

On Friday, Cameron went to the doctor for his first Well Baby Visit. He weighed in at 4lb 5oz, which is the same as when he left the hospital. The doctor said that everything looked great and they did another bili test to check for jaundice and he was in the normal range. We went back to the doctor today for a weight check. He was still 4lb 5oz but the doctor said that he should start gaining the next couple of days and wants us to go back on Wednesday for another weight check.

He has been eating pretty well. Last week he was eating about 1/2 oz - 1oz per feeding and he is now averaging 1-1 1/2 oz per feeding. We are slowing getting the hang of the whole breastfeeding thing. I met with a lactation specialist while at the doctor on Friday and today and she has been so helpful in making me feel comfortable with breastfeeding and I finally feel like I am doing it right. Cameron seems to notice the change to and is doing a lot better than he was. We have made progress but still have a bit to go before we are experts!

Cameron had a lot of visitors this weekend! On Saturday, Cory's brother Derek, sister-in-law Tonya, and our niece Adalyn came to visit. Addy is Cam's only cousin right now!

This is a picture of Tonya, Addy, and Cameron!

My friend Holly, her mom, and sister also came to see him. Later that afternoon, Cory's friend Cody, Zack, and Caleb came to see Cameron. All three of the guys were terrified of holding him but were troopers and did! Cameron looked so tiny compared to them. I don't think they moved a
muscle the entire time he was in their arms! Monica also came to visit Saturday night.

On Sunday, Grandpa Freihaut came to see Cameron! He bought us lunch and visited with us and we then went to my parents house where Cameron was the center of attention! My parents dogs were not happy that this little critter had invaded their territory! Cory's dad has a 4th of July party every year that we will have to miss this weekend. We promised to bring Cameron next year to see the fireworks show!

The last picture is of Cameron's first bath! He was not too excited to be getting "sponged off". He was very happy when it was time to be wrapped up in his hooded froggy towel!

I will try to update at least once a week from now on. Most likely it will be on Sundays or Monday to recap the previous week! When I set up the online photo album I will also post the link so everyone can see all of the pictures we have taken of our little man!

Cory and I would like to thank everyone who has sent us congratulatory message and gifts for Cameron. We are so blessed to have such wonderful families, friends, and support!

Introducing Cameron Patrick Freihaut!

Cameron Patrick Freihaut
June 22, 2009
11:34 PM
4 lbs 9 oz 18 inches

As a lot of you may already know, our baby boy was born on Monday, June 22 at 11:34pm. I went to my scheduled doctor's appointment that morning and had an a biophysical and ultrasound done to do his measurement. Once I met with the doctor, she determined that he was still not growing well and told Cory and I that she wanted to get him delivered. She sent me over to the hospital (Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, IN) to be induced.

We got to the hospital about noon and got in our room around 12:15. The labor rooms at the hospital were amazing. I was started on Pitocin at 1:00pm to get me having contractions. Then the wait began! The nurses told me that Dr. Huffman would be in around 8pm to break my water. Between 1 and 8pm Cory and I just kind of watched tv and read some books. I was 3 centimeters dialated at 1:00pm and about 80% effaced. According to the monitors I was having contractions but I wasn't really feeling them and when I did they didn't hurt. Dr. Huffman broke my water at 7:50pm and told me that I was about 4cm dialated and 90% effaced. They put in some internal monitors to watch his heartbeat and my contractions. Once my water was broke, then I felt the contractions like crazy! They told us it would be about a half an hour until the epidural got to my room but it was more like an hour!!! The nurse told me that since I no longer had that fluid in there that I would feel the contractions a lot more and boy was she right. Cory later told me that the nurse told him a good strong contraction is about 75 on the monitor. After my water was broke, I had 3 contractions 1 minute apart that reached over 100! I thought I was dying! Cameron's heartbeat started to drop when I had contractions so they decided to put me on oxygen and inject saline to soften the contractions to him. Once 30 minutes hit, I was cursing hte epidural guy because he wasn't there yet. When he finally showed up and gave me the epi I was about to kill him! He gave me the epidural and about 4 contractions later I felt absolutely nothing! It was amazing. I could feel the contractions with my hand on my stomach but felt no pain whatsoever.

So the epidural was given to me at 9pm and then the nurse checked me a little later and apparently she called my doctor because Dr. Huffman showed up around 11:00pm and checked me out. I was 9cm dialated and 100% effaced. She told me that it was about time to start pushing and got in her scrubs. By this point I was freaking out a bit. I think Cory was too because we couldn't believe the moment we had been waiting for was finally going to happen and our little boy was going to be here. Dr. Huffman had be do three big pushes per contraction and when I had one start up she told me to push. The only problem was that I couldn't feel anything and didn't know if I was pushing or not! Cory held one of my legs while the nurse held the other and was able to watch the entire thing! They told me they could see his head and to keep pushing. Four contractions, ten minutes, and 12 pushes later, Cameron came out screaming his handsome little head off!

They placed him directly on my stomach and I don't think there has been a happier moment in my life. He was so tiny and absolutely adorable. They took him to a table next to me and cleaned him up. Cory took pictures and then held him. They told me how much he weighed and I was so excited that he came out over 4 1/2 lbs. My parents, sister, and Cory's mom came into the room about midnight to see himHe was in the room with me for about an hour after I had him and then they took him to the nursery for his bath which Cory went to watch and too pictures of. Once my epidural ran out and I used the bathroom, I was moved to a post partum room and that is where we stayed til we left. Cameron was in the room with us most of the time. They started me breastfeeding right away and Cory staked his claim on the couch. We got pretty much no sleep that first night or the next two nights. I was given pain meds and the cocktail they gave me was pretty darn good! Tuesday morning, Cameron weighed in at a whopping 4 lbs 7.5 oz. A car seat specialist came in to talk to us because they always do car seat checks on babies under 5 lbs. She fit him into his car seat and said that he fit in ok despite how little he was and told us that they would have to do a two hour car seat test to make sure his head didn't fall forward and cut off his oxygen while in the seat. He had that test done on Wednesday and passed with flying colors! They took him a few times throughout the day for different tests and he did marvelous. He did test a little high for jaundice but when they did the bilirubin (sp?) blood test it turned out he was in the ok range. My parents, sister, and Cory's mom stayed until Tuesday afternoon then went home. Cameron was very popular with the nurses in the post partum ward. He was known for peeing whenever anyone tried to change his diaper. He now has the nickname squirt not only for being so little but because he is one awesome squirter! They got called every time we changed his diaper because the bassinet linens needed to be changed due to spraying! On Wednesday, some of my coworkers came to visit (Mark, Jocelyn, and Nicole C.) and that night our friend Jenny came to see Cameron. I was released from the hospital Wednesday late night but they wanted to keep Cam til Thursday morning. He got the clear to go home around 9am on Thursday and off we were!

Cory drove while I sat in the back with Cameron. Once we got home we unpacked some stuff and Cory went to my parents house to pick up Maggie to bring her home to meet her new little brother. I sat Cameron in his car seat in his nursery while Cory let Maggie in the house to see me. Cory had taken a receiving blanket to let Maggie smell and she was super excited to come home after spending 3 days at my parents. We opened the nursery door and let her find Cameron on her own. She was very curious and confused by this little thing invading her home but she has done extremely well! She will go up to him and sniff and give a few little licks then walk away. It is almost like she goes to check on him once in a while. She is already protective of him and is very concerned when he cries. She also checks out everyone who is holding him to make sure he is ok.

So far, Cameron has had quite a few visitors already! Both of my aunts and their kids have been here along with my parents, sister, and her boyfriend Charlie. Marilyn, my friend Erin's mom and my mom's friend, and my grandparents have all visited. This weekend we have more people coming to visit from out of town. We are very excited to show him off!

This morning Cameron went to his very first doctor's appointment. They rechecked for jaundice and his score was good. He weighed 4lb 5 oz which is great since that means he hasn't lost any weight since leaving the hospital yesterday. The doctor said other than being little that he looks very healthy. We have to take him back on Monday for a weight check and then he goes back for his two week appointment on July 6th.

He is mostly sleeping, eating, and getting changed but he is alert for a couple hours a day right now. He has beautiful dark blue eyes and he loves looking at mommy and daddy! He is very active with his hands and arm and loves to have his hands at his face. It is funny because in all of his ultrasound pictures he has hands up on his face. He sleeps with an arm or both arms up by his head or a hand over his face. It is adorable.

All in all, besides being small he is absolutely perfect and the most precious thing we have ever seen. He isn't very fussy (yet..cross your fingers!) and rarely cries except for when he is a little hungry or getting changed. Cory and I feel so blessed to have this little bundle of joy in our lives and thank everyone who has supported us and sent us prayers during my pregnancy. We appreciate everything every did for us and can't wait for everyone to meet Cameron!

I will be creating an online photo album of Cameron in the near future and will post all pictures there along with a few on here. I will let you all know the web address when I have time to do it!

It's getting close!

So again it has been a while since I have updated. As of Friday, 6/19, I was 2 cenimeters dialated and about 50% effaced. This means that I am starting to progress on my own. Tomorrow I will be 37 weeks and my doctor has told me she is comfortable delivering me at that time or after. Cameron is still measuring extremely small for his gestational age. 2 1/2 weeks ago he was between 3 1/2 and 4 pounds which put him under the 10th percentile. I will be going back to the doc in the morning to get his measurements and biophysical. It is likely that if he hasn't had a huge growth spurt in the past two weeks that I will be induced sometime this week!

Cory and I are very excited about the upcoming arrival of Cameron. We have his nursery complete and have bought some preemie stuff since the doctor says he is going to be a small baby. Today we gave Maggie a bath so she is nice and clean for whenever Cameron comes home. For Father's Day, Maggie and Cameron got daddy a new toolbox, tennis shoes, and a new outfit. Cory loved it. Today we went over to my parents house for lunch to celebrate Father's Day. Mom made up a good lunch and we gave dad his gift card to Menards. It seems like that is all we ever get him anymore for gifts, but he goes there so much I know he will use it.

Cory and I are settling into our new house well. It has been quite an adjustment for me not to be working as well as Cory since he is off for the summer. We tend to get on each other's nerves since we aren't used to being around each other 24/7 lol. Maggie loves her new huge back yard and enjoys going on her nighty walks in Deming Park with Cory.

If we aren't sent to the hospital after the doctor tomorrow I will try to remember to post again and update!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks!

So a lot has happened in the past couple of weeks and we have been super busy trying to get things moved and ready for baby Cameron! We found out 3 days before closing on our house that I was getting laid off from my job, so we had to back out on the house. Since Cory teaches in Terre Haute and my entire family lives here, we decided that we would move back. We found a house to rent from a wonderful lady named Mary that happens to be on my dad's mail route. It is a two bedroom home and we have an awesome mailman who personally delivers my mail to the door haha! My last day of work was May 29th and we moved our stuff to Terre Haute the weekend before that and spent that weekend setting up house. The baby's room looks adorable. Cory was a trooper and built the crib and glider ottoman. He has been quite the handyman lately! Cameron's room is decorated in a Jungle/Safari theme in light green and tan. I will take a picture this week and post it next time!

On Thursday, I went in for an ultrasound and Cameron was measuring at 3 lbs 7 oz, which is extremely small for the 34 weeks 3 days that I was. My doctor wasn't in that day, I had just went in for the ultrasound because she wants to keep a close eye on his growth. Friday was Cory's last day of school and we had quite a hectic/exciting/nerve wracking day. My doctor called me while the Dish Network guy was at our house installing the Dish. She had just gotten to the office and was looking at my ultrasound results from the day before. She told me that Cameron was measuring less than the 5th percentile and that she wanted me to go see a specialist at St. Vincent's Women's Hospital in the Maternal Fetal Monitoring and Genetics office. She also told me that it was possible they would need to deliver him that day because he is not growing well inside me and may grow better outside my body. Needless to say, I pretty much freaked out. I was definitely not ready to have this baby yet!

They scheduled me an appointment in Indy at 1:30pm and I called Cory and told him to come home (his kids had already left for the day so it wasn't too big of a deal for him to leave). Then I called my sister to have her come pick up Maggie and take her to my parents house. I called my mom and dad and explained the situation to them. My mom is in Boulder, CO visiting my friend Erin with Erin's mom so my mom was a bit worried and I think regretting her decision to go out of town. Thankfully it all worked out in the end.

When Cory got home, we sent the Dish guy away and told him we would have to reschedule. THankfully they are coming back this afternoon to install, I think Cory is dying without his cable tv and ESPN lol. Cory and I packed a quick hospital bag for him and myself in case they decided to deliver. I must say, it was probably the worst hospital bag ever packed because we were a little frantic lol.

We drove to Indy to St. Vincent's and they did a very in depth ultrasound and took all of Cam's measurements. According to their measurements, he is weighing about 3 lbs 15 oz which is a little better. The specialist told us that he is not growing to his "full potential" but she would like to try and wait until I am 37 weeks to deliver. I will be 37 weeks on June 22nd. She wants me to go back twice a week until then for non-stress tests and to take his measurements. If he still isn't growing well in the next couple of weeks they may take him earlier than 37 weeks but we are hoping he can cook a little longer and stay in until I reach full term at 37 weeks. I go back to the doc on Tuesday for more testing. She also mentioned that I will most likely need to have a C-Section because since he is so little and not growing right there is a higher risk of still birth and they do not want to put him through the stress of labor.

At least now we have time to properly pack a hospital bag and finish getting everything ready for Cameron's arrival. It looks like he will end up being a June baby instead of July. Cory and I just hope that he will be a healthy and happy baby!

Thank you to everyone who posted that they are keeping us and Cameron in their thoughts and prayers on facebook and who called to check on us. We really appreciate having such a wonderful support system surrounding us. Our plans for this week are to finish up Cameron's nursery and get the house ready for a new baby! I also want to make up some dinners I can freeze so I don't have to cook when he comes. We will see how much I actually get accomplished though lol. I haven't had too much motivation this past week to do anything. We will keep you all posted on what's going on and I hope you enjoy the newest ultrasound picture above of our grumpy little boy!

Finally an update!

Ok.. I am officially the WORST blogger ever because I never update (thank you Erin for reminding me to actually do something!). I didn't think people actually read this thing :).

I have lots of new to update since it has been forever and day since I have written anything.

<----- We officially close on our house on Friday at 3:00pm! We are so excited and can't wait to start working on it. There isn't much we need to do, just some basic things. We need to paint the whole thing and clean the carpets. I'm hoping we can get a lot of that done this weekend so we can get started moving in the furniture and decorating the nursery!

On the baby front, this kid is kicking my ass! Literally! He moves around so much and seems to never stop! At my 28 week appointment I got an ultrasound (3D). His head was measuring 29 weeks while his abdomen and legs were measuring 24-25 weeks which wasn't good. Doc decided to move back my due date to July 13th which I was NOT happy about considering I want him out right now! Other than him measuring small, everything looked great. I passed my glucose test with flying colors and got my Rhogam shot. I am now officially 30 weeks along and 3/4 the way there! Yay! i go back to the doc May 13th and get another ultrasound!

On Saturday, Cory and I attended our first Childbirth class at our hospital. I actually really enjoyed it. We watched a few videos and played a few games to get us familiar with what will most likely be happening. My favorite part was the tour! We will have a private room for delivery and post partum care. I think Cory was most excited about the flat screen TVs and fridges in the rooms while I am stoked that massage therapists are available at no extra charge! Woohoo.. I'm definitely going to be using them as much as possible. The baby will also be able to stay in our room 24/7 except when they need to do labs and vital checks. The rooms are super nice and I think I am going to really enjoy my stay there! This reminds me that I need to start packing a hospital bag lol

Since the baby has been kicking more (all the time!), Cory was finally able to see him kick from the outside this weekend. We got a strong little guy in there. My favorite part is watching him move through my tummy. He just rolls around and my stomach contorts. A few times I have felt his foot sticking out of me! It's amazing to see, but I will be much happier when he is done pummeling my inside and we finally get to hold him!

I have posted one of the 3D ultrasound pics below. Hope you enjoy and I promise I will update within a few days of my next doctor's appointment!

Halfway Mark!

We have finally hit the halfway mark! I am now 20 weeks and 1 day. I am still not showing much although my pants are super tight and I suffocate everytime I sit down :). I have bought a few pairs of maternity pants but haven't brought myself to wear them yet. It is stressful every morning when I attempt to get dressed for work. Nothing seems to fit right or look right on me and I get very frustrated. A few time crying was involved! Probably the hormones kicking my butt!

Cory and I have officially picked a name for our little boy. He will be named Cameron Patrick Freihaut! Before anyone asks, we are not naming him after anyone. We just love both the first and middle name and think it flows nicely with our last name. We are planning on registering here in the next few week so I will post that information once we get the registry completed.

On Friday, Cory and I are going to apply for a home loan to see how much we will be approved for. We are hoping that we can get into a house before Cameron comes! On Sunday, we went with Cory's mom to an open house. We really liked it and we think it is definitely in our price range. Also, Cory's brother Derek, his wife Tonya, and our niece Addy came to visit along with Cory's mom to celebrate Cory's birthday he had last week. We all went out to eat at Damon's. It was great seeing Addy. She is starting to walk now and is just adorable. Maggie was pretty good with Addy (who will be 1 on March 2) but did not like the adults. I'm glad she is comfortable around little kids but we needs to get her more comfy around adults. She was abused before I got her and is very weary of people she doesn't know which is everyone but Cory, I, my parents and sister!

My next prenatal appointment is on March 3rd so I will most likely post after that and let everyone know how little Cameron is doing!

Lots of love <3

It's a...

I know I am horrible at updating this thing but Cory and I got some very exciting news today!

IT'S A BOY!

I have posted the sonogram picture and it is very obvious that it's a HE! Cory and I are extremely excited and can't wait to start picking baby boy stuff out and registering! Our due date is still July 7, 2009!

I have only gained 2 lbs. so far but the doctor said she expects me to start gaining more in the coming weeks! Everything on the ultrasound looked great and we were able to see the heart with all four chambers, the bladder, spine, brain, and lots of other little organs.

We have bought a few gender neutral baby items so such as a Colt's stuff :) (Cory is a Browns fan.. boo). We are thinking about decorating the baby's room in a Jungle/Safari theme. We have found one room that has a lot of green and tan and jungle animals that we really like.

I will try to be better about posting weekly on this thing! Right now we are ecstatic about finding out we are having a boy and can't wait to meet him! Have a great rest of the week!

Prenatal Update!

Today was my second prenatal visit. Unfortunately, it was Cory's first day back to school so he was unable to go with me. I have not gained any weight since my prenatal visit but Dr. Huffman told me that that is absolutely normal. She even said that some people lose a few pounds in the first trimester. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can't wait to gain a little wait and start showing!

While at the visit, I got to listen to the heartbeat again. While the heartbeat monitor was on my stomach, we kept hearing this whooshing sound and Dr. Huffman said that was the baby moving around. It was amazing to hear but I wish that Cory would have been there to enjoy it with me. Dr. Huffman said that everything looked and sounded good. She told me that at our next appointment we could do the ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby. That date is officially February 3. I called Cory right after my appointment and he is very excited about our next visit as well. He will be taking off work early that day to attend. We have also invited our moms to come to the appointment with us.

I know that I never put up the first ultrasound picture but unfortunately the scanner is hiding behind a pile of Christmas stuff. I may get around to doing it at the same time I put up the sonogram picture next month :)
